Margo is excited to host our second plugfest for the community to continue testing the pre-draft specification as we move towards our first general availability release.
The first plugfest for Margo was a major success! We appreciate SUSE for hosting this event in their Nürnberg office, and look forward to the lessons learned and relationships built to move the community forward.
The PR2 Quarterly Release & Tagging Strategy
This plugfest will be based on our PR2 quarterly release, which utilized our newly established specification tagging strategy aiming to highlight the incremental progress of the community.
Features that were not completed move to our next preview release. Information on the current task, and what is slated for future releases, can be found in the following GitHub project:
-
TWG Feature Project (PR3 view): https://github.com/orgs/margo/projects/22/views/14
Note: Previous releases and completed tasks can be found in the other project views.
To find the Preview release tags and specification snapshot, please use the following links:

General Website Content Tags: https://github.com/margo/general_website_content/tags
Note: Our docs.margo.org website utilizes content from two repositories. Release tags/snapshots need to be completed on both repositories.
Practical Validation: Specification Update Proposals (SUPs)
Additionally, at the plugfest motivated suppliers will be testing/verifying work-in-progress specification update proposals (SUPs). This enables collaboration on in-progress proposals to be vetted in a practical sense, and not just on paper.
Ongoing SUPs and the enhancement framework can be found here:
-
SUP Current PRs: https://github.com/margo/specification-enhancements/pulls
-
SUP Process Overview: https://github.com/margo/Margo-collaboration/blob/main/specification_update_processes/process-overview.md
Note: This process is established for both members and non-members to create specification enhancements, or provide solutions to the Technical Working Group work items (GitHub Issues).
I look forward to the great discussions and verification of the current state of the specification.
